What do Policy Ambassadors do?
Policy Ambassadors serve the UCLA community by pairing up twice a week and making scheduled rounds around the campus. During their rounds, fellow PA (Policy Ambassador) Bruins politely remind those who they see smoking/vaping on campus about UCLA's smoke/vape-free policy. Aside from enforcing the smoke-free policy, PA also provide quit kits, offer words of encouragement to smokers/vapers, and keep track of certain smoking/vaping 'hot spots' on campus.
Who can become a Policy Ambassador?
Anyone can! Completion of CYAN training automatically qualifies anyone to join our program and become a certified Policy Ambassador. More specifically, this training consists of watching a series of videos and informational presentations (regarding the health issues with cigarettes and vaping, and how to politely confront smokers).
